Tall case brass dial clock, ca. 1785.

Birch tall case clock. The hood has a molded flat top, turned colonettes at the front corners, and a glazed door with an astragal top. Waist with cove molding at the top and a case door with an astragal top. Bottom section with molding at the top, supported on a molded, stepped plinth and bracket base. Composite brass dial with applied chapter ring, roman hour numerals, applied cast ornament in the spandrels and lunette, and applied boss in the lunette. Inside the chapter ring there are an applied seconds dial, a calendar aperture, and engraved foliate ornament. Dial inscribed with "Timothy Cheney Hartford." Eight day movement.
